A family from Barberà de la Conca crafts natural wines without additives, following strict biodynamic principles. Their wines express the unique character of Trepat—the region’s native grape—grown on certified organic estates situated between 400 and 500 meters in altitude.

From the Incubator to Their Own Estate

The Carlania Celler project was born in 2007 when the family decided to stop selling their grapes to the local cooperative and start bottling their own vision. Their journey began at the Viver de Celleristes in Barberà de la Conca, a pioneering winery incubator that blends tradition with a forward-looking perspective.


By 2009, they had built their own small winery in the village. The family vineyards, located in secluded plots at high elevations, are CCPAE certified. Each parcel possesses distinct traits that are directly translated into the bottle.

Biodynamics and Spontaneous Fermentation Without Additives

The philosophy at Carlania Celler is rooted in biodynamic viticulture and a policy of non-intervention in the cellar. These wines are simply fermented grapes—no commercial yeasts or enzymes are added, and the liquid is neither filtered nor fined.

This process honors the natural expression of the fruit and the terroir, resulting in “living” wines that may contain natural sediment or traces of CO2. Every bottle is unique, a direct consequence of a production method that prioritizes authenticity over industrial homogeneity. For the family, biodynamics is a tool for a deeper connection with the land.

Trepat as Identity and Territorial Commitment

Every Carlania wine features Trepat, either partially or entirely. As the indigenous grape of Conca de Barberà, Trepat is the cornerstone of the winery’s identity. Defending this variety is both an oenological choice and a commitment to preserving local viticultural heritage. 

Grown at the altitudes of Barberà de la Conca, Trepat brings a signature freshness and personality to the wines. This loyalty to their native roots is part of a broader vision: to convey the values, effort, and authenticity of a family project deeply anchored in the territory. #Naturalwines
